2014 – Driving School
2014 – Driving School
Was in Berlin Germany, to work with one of my teams. While there managed to free up 1 day in order to be a tourist.
Two things came of this.
- I got to take a rather cool driving class
- I bought another car.
The car is not one you all would have expected me to pick up. It’s a Ford Ka. Small, cute little economy car.
But I decided I didn’t like the color…..
…
So I ran it over with a tank…..
(For reference, the person you see is my spotter, I was in the tank, under the left side hatch, driving while looking out two little tiny windows.)
So yes, I got to spend an hour learning how to drive a WWII era, Russian T55T tank (minus the turret).
- It is a light and nimble 34 Ton vehicle, with an economical 600HP, 38 liter, 12 Cylinder engine.
- It got 0.2 miles per gallon.
- Its transmission is NOT much unlike the one that I took out of my 67 firebird.
- The clutch is almost the same.
In case you are wondering, the tank didn’t even feel like I was driving up a small curb, it just went forward and there was a lot of crunching, vaguely discernable over the sound of the engine.
awwwwwwww yeah….
If you happen to be in berlin, HIGHLY recommended
