Corcovado Nat’l Park & Manuel Antonio Nat’l Park
Photography Highlights
The Trip
Not a bad way to wake up and start the day
The road to Corcovado Nat'l Park. Luckily it was dry season or these little river crossings would have required a better truck
Hiking around the hotel before we head into the park for 3 days/2 nights
Hiking into the park. 12 miles in 900 degrees and enough humidity that we would have been dryer if we swam.
1/3 of the hike was black sand beach in the sun
1/3 at the high tide line
the rest was in the jungle
Tapir that stuck his tounge out at me
The Ranger Station @ Sirena where we camped for 2 nights
Leafcutter Ants. Very impressive little critters.
Black Vultures. All over the place
Wild Turkey (No, not that kind)
Eyelash Pit Viper. Very impressive camouflage. Also pretty lethal.
The rivers we crossed in low tide on the way to the park had these during high tide.
ShipWreck on the hike back
There were so many of these while hiking that it sounded like rain as they all ran for cover
Black Hawk drying itself in the sun after a rain
Norther Crested Caracara eating a snake
5 days of hiking, where do we see the best Sloth? Climbing onto our umbrella at the pool
Waiter had impressive balance. pool to the left, 10 foot drop to the right
